The private limited company orv BVBA Lieven Achtergael-Architecten, hereinafter referred to as ‘BVBA LA’, having its registered office at 9000 Ghent, Burgstraat 22A, with enterprise number 0476.431.039, Ghent Register of Legal Entities, Ghent Division, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy policy, and acts as the controller within the meaning of the privacy legislation.
 
This Privacy Policy shall therefore only apply to the personal data that BVBA LA processes as controller.
 
The present general privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as "the Privacy Policy") is intended to provide you with complete information concerning this privacy policy. It explains how we collect, use and store your personal data.

Personal data that we process
BVBA LA processes your personal data in view of the fact that you use our services. Or because you provide the said data to us yourself, for example by filling in an online form or submitting a job application. By way of example, we may process the following personal data, depending on the service you use:
  • name
  • address
  • email address
  • telephone number

Provision to third parties
BVBA LA shall not sell your data to third parties. We only provide your data to third parties provided that they are directly involved in implementing the agreement between yourself and our company, or where we are bound under a provision of the law to provide your information.
 
No processing of personal data relating to persons under 16 years of age
BVBA LA has no intention of collecting information from persons under 16 years of age.
 
No automated decision-making
BVBA LA takes no decisions on the basis of automated decision-making in connection with matters that may affect individuals. These are decisions taken by computer programs or systems without involving any human beings (for example, an employee of BVBA LA).
 
Protection of your personal data
BVBA LA attaches great importance to the protection of your data, and implements appropriate measures to prevent the misuse or loss thereof, as well as unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unlawful alteration of such data.
Only persons who require access to your personal data in order to perform their work are permitted to have access to the same. They are bound to observe strict confidentiality obligations and to comply with all technical and organisational regulations to ensure the confidentiality of personal data.
Wherever appropriate, this data may be provided to a processor.
 
To ensure that you receive the best possible service, we engage the processors at BVBA Lieven Achtergael as specialised partners in Belgium and abroad for providing certain services. The aforesaid processors are contractually bound to us and are therefore obliged to comply with our instructions and to observe the principles set out in our Privacy Policy.
We have deployed technical resources and engaged specialised partners, with the primary aim of protecting your personal data. Our intention in doing this is to prevent unauthorised persons from gaining access to the data, processing it or altering or destroying it.
 
Cookies
We use cookies on our website. A cookie is a small, simple file that is sent along with pages of this website, which your browser stores on the hard drive of your computer. The information stored therein may be returned to our servers on your next visit.

Necessary and functional language cookies

Functional cookies are cookies that ensure that the website functions properly (e.g. cookies for language preferences, etc.)
The information collected by the cookies is not used to identify you, and we do not share the statistical data with third parties.
Session cookies
Session cookies enable us to see the parts of the website that you have viewed during a visit. This allows us to fine-tune our services to the surfing behaviour of our visitors, to the maximum extent. Session cookies are automatically deleted as soon as you close your web browser.
 
Google Analytics cookies
As part of its Analytics service, the American company Google places cookies via our website. We use this service to track and obtain reports on how visitors use our website. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or if third parties process the information on Google's behalf. We have no influence over this. We have not granted Google permission to use the analytics information it obtains for any other Google services. The information Google collects is anonymised to the maximum extent possible. We explicitly state that we do not provide your IP address during this process. The information is transmitted to Google, and is stored by it on servers in the United States. Google states that it complies with the Safe Harbor privacy principles, and is affiliated to the Safe Harbor program of the U.S. Department of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate protection level for processing any personal data.
 
General retention (storage) period
BVBA LA shall not retain your personal data for longer than is required in order to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected, unless a legal basis is applicable, in which case we apply a retention period that is consistent with that legal basis.
 
Your privacy rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data, or to object to the processing of your personal data by BVBA LA.
You also have the right to data portability. This means that you can ask us to send you, or any other organisation named by you, the personal data we have concerning you, in a computer file.
 
You may send a request to inspect, correct, delete, transfer your personal data, to withdraw your consent, or to object to the processing of your personal data to: mail@achtergael.be.
 
We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.

Changes
BVBA LA reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy. You will always have access to the most recent privacy policy on our website. The version number is indicated at the bottom of the document.
 
 
SUPPLEMENT TO THE PRIVACY POLICY WITH REGARD TO JOB APPLICATIONS
 
What personal data do we process?
When applying, we ask you to send us your CV and a brief justification for your job application. In this connection, you are free to decide what personal data you provide to us.
 
For what purpose do we process your personal data?
We process the personal data that you provide to us, to enable us to respond to your application. This may consist of a job interview invitation, a request for more information, or a rejection of your job application.
 
How long do we retain your personal data?
We will not retain your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary in order to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected:
  • if your job application is rejected, we delete your personal data immediately after sending you the rejection; or
  • if we do not currently have a suitable vacancy, but would like to keep your details for possible future vacancies, we are able to retain your details for a maximum period of 2 years.
  • If you are accepted, the purpose and retention period as laid down in the employment regulations of BVBA LA shall apply.
